A new introduction for Dawin Plants (owned by Ball Seed).  Huge, aggressive grower with large orange and green leaves.  My favorite part of this new introduction is the size of the leaves and the great contrast between the bright top of the leaves and the reddish bottom.  Becomes a big heuchera quickly.  One of the nicer new coral bell introductions this year.

A new introduction for 2010 that at first glance looks like many of the red heucheras on the market but it’s not.  A very heat tolerant plant, Midnight Bayou’s black veins really bring out the red leaves.  Great substance originating from its villosa roots combined with the large leaves makes this an introduction worthy of adding another red heuchera.

Heuchera Creme de Menthe is another silver leaved coral bell with nice veining but does have its own merit. A nice big heuchera with medium to small sized leaves.  Not a heuchera for full sun as its color is best shown in part shade.  Might get lost if you already have a bunch of silver leaved coral bells but if you have to chose only one or two, this might be one we would pick.  Notice the difference in our pictures (green leaves) and the others.  Can be variable color depending on light conditions.  Ours were grown in full sun and hard to differentiate between many other the other green leafed, silver veined, heucheras

Voted one of the best bronze coral bells on the market and we have to agree.  Similar to Caramel but has a different texture.  Leaf is shinier and has a richer color but not quite as vigorous of a grower.  That doesn’t mean this isn’t a vigorous grower as well just not quite as fast but then again Caramel is one of the fastest of all the coral bell.  Incredible fall color as witnessed in the photos above.  A great grower and a must add to your heuchera collection.

Electric Lime is a new coral bell introduction for 2010 that will brighten up the shade garden with it’s bright yellow leaves.  This variety has improved leaf substance and resists disease as compared to some of the heucheras from the past. Color is light yellow in the summer but leaf darkens to a rich yellow with red veins.  A nice new yellow

Heuchera ‘Autumn Leaves’ is a new heuchera from Terra Nova that highlights the changing leaves of heuchera.  All heucheras add color during the fall and winter but this one is special.  Starting Red and finishing ruby red, it really stands out in the fall.  We will be adding our own picture of this one shortly.  Contact us if you have a good photo you would like to share.

A new release from France’s Thierry Delabroye, Heuchera ‘Pistache’ is a chartreuse yellow leafed plant that turns more of a light green when in shade.  The thicker leaves of the villosa breeding helps this plant avoid the foliar diseases that the other varieties such as “Lime Rickey’ fall victim to.

These pictures are not enhanced or shot using any special lighting.  They really shine that much.  Heuchera Venus is a smaller heuchera at just 8″ tall but it is super full and has large silver leaves with dark green margins.  One of the best heucheras when it comes to standing out against dark mulch.  Also looks great with plants with darker foliage.  We like it better than ‘Green Spice’

Heuchera ‘Berry Smoothie’ is a new introduction from Terra Nova that combines the best of both the villosa lines and the americana lines.  A beautiful rose pink leaf emerges in the spring that darkens as the season progresses. Not quite as light purple/rose pink as the original press release photos but still a beautiful addition to your heuchera collection. Like all heucheras you need to watch the water early as to prevent the plant from rotting out so plant them high.
